Chart of Accounts of Photographers

What is a Chart of Accounts?

The chart of accounts a system for categorizing all of a company’s financial accounts.   A chart of accounts is usually divided into five categories: assets, liabilities, equity, income, and expenses.

Why do photographers need a Chart of Accounts?

The categories on the chart of accounts feed directly into the financial statements, such as the profit and loss, as well as the balance sheet. A well-developed chart of accounts ensures that your financial reports are not only accurate but easy for you to read and understand. Your financial reports will provide you with the necessary information to make informed business decisions today, and in the future.

How should I organize my chart of accounts?

The good news is that accounting software, such as QuickBooks, will provide you with a basic chart of accounts that you can edit to fit the needs of your business.
