Having a healthy, productive outlet for your stress is absolutely essential for maintaining a good work-life balance, so find what relaxes you and makes you forget about work.

You can let off steam through a creative hobby, exercise, socializing, or spending time with your family – anything as long as it is something you genuinely love and enjoy doing. Take Care Of Your Body

We have a tendency to think of mental health as something entirely separate from physical health, but the two are inextricably connected. Making healthy choices for your body is one of the best ways to keep your mind stress-free, so make sure you eat healthy, get plenty of sleep, and exercise regularly.

The latter is especially important, as there is strong evidence that regular exercise can reduce stress in the long-term. Your brain interprets physical and mental stress in the same way, by producing a hormone called cortisol, which is what makes us feel anxious when we are stressed out. By putting your body under controlled physical stress through cardio and strength training, your body starts building a tolerance and releasing less cortisol when it senses stress. In other words, the more you exercise, the better you become at handling stressful situations.

The most important thing to remember is that work should never be your whole life. Even if you are starting a business or going for that promotion, your job should only be part of what you spend your time focusing on. When you allow work to consume your every waking thought, it is inevitable that workplace stress is going to build and, with nowhere else to go, it will lead straight to burnout.
